Kourtney Kardashian- Monochrome day out.

This monochrome outfit is everything! The shaggy top brings texture, the white denim bring the pop of colour and the studs down the side are so subtle that when you notice it its amazing. The biker boots along with the dark shades bring a tough edge to the look that is perfect for a day of errand runs.

Kourtney brings fabulous again, and she's not even trying.

The Carrie Diaries- Season 2 Fashion Favourites.

One of my absolute favourite television serious of all time is Sex and the City. It holds a nostalgia for me that will never end, mostly because of the beautiful shots of New York City. New York is where my heart is so I felt like a part of me died when they concluded the show in 2004.

One aspect of the programme that will live on was the Fashion. Patricia Fields done an Emmy award winning job on the television series and the movies (not just on SATC but on 'Ugly Betty' and 'The Devil Wears Prada') and has paved the way for amazing fashion to be show cased on the new spin-off show 'The Carrie Diaries'

'The Carrie Diaries' goes back in time and lets us in on Carrie Bradshaw circa 1980's -played by AnnaSophia Robb- before she moved to New York from Castleburry, Connecticut . Every Episode begins with: 'Before there was sex, before there was the city the was me, Carrie. Carrie Bradshaw.'

Season 1 saw a young Carrie, not yet influenced by the atmosphere of the city, or the allure of colour and glamour at her job working at interview magazine- a magazine I modelled my final project off. we see cute jumpers and sweet ballet pumps, outfits you would normally see on a 16 year old. Season 2 on the other hand shows a carrie who is not afraid of colour and expression, the Carrie we know from Sex and the City.

Her are a couple of her bright vivid, print filled ensembles and I've chosen the pics that let you know where you can purchase them for yourselves. Just visit the websites stated.

If the rest of the costume design is as inspirational, eye-catching and provoking as they have been 'The Carrie Diaries' will become a favourite among the fashionistas, just as 'Sex and the City' was and still is.

Styled to Rock

Styled to Rock is in my opinion one of the best reality competition television series that has been put out in a long time. Although Rihanna's pushed to the front in this shows advertising, and she is the executive producer of the show, apart from introducing the contestants she really hasn't made an appearance in the episodes which is a factor I quite like not because I dislike her but because it really becomes about the clothes.

My show of choice used to be Americas next top model which i watched religiously for its creative photo-shoot concepts along with the beautiful hair and makeup, but along the line classic american reality show production worked its magic and the show suddenly became about the fights inside the house and silly hashtag-able words coined by Tyra Banks- for example 'booty tooch'.

So I gave up on ANTM, watched a couple 'Project Runway' episodes but never got into the programme. Styled to Rock came along and again I fell in Love.

The judges:
Pharrell Williams: Artist, co-founder of the clothing brands Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream Clothing.
Erin Wasson: Model, actress and occasional stylist and designer.
Mel Ottenberg: Rihanna's personal stylist, responsible for some of her most iconic looks.

  • The three judges as a collective give the show credibility because the critic they give is honest, sensible and you can tell they really do want the best for the contestants. The contestants I have to say do not seem to be bringing their A-game when it comes to designing, there always seems to be an obvious divid between good designs and terrible designs. My favourite designers are Sergio Hudson who has won twice, and Cecilia Aragon not for her designs but for her personal style.

  • Here are my favourite designs so far, all winners barring one design which I feel should have won.

Also let m know what u think of the judges, designers and designs.

Hayden Williams- Damn This Boy Can Draw

My time surfing the web very often takes me to websites, blogs, tumblrs and facebook pages that if asked how I arrived on said page, I wouldn’t have the foggiest of ideas.

The same does not apply in this instant as I remember quite vividly how I came across the work of a young gentleman who’s drawings have made him somewhat of a celebrity in the social networking world. This young man goes by the name of Hayden Williams.

My first encounter with his work was when Rihanna (the singer) herself had used one of his drawings as her twitter aviator. It was a picture of her in three outfits from her S’n’M video hand drawn to the tee. I searched her page for clues as to who the artist was, clicked the link to his twitter page and the rest is stalking history. I say stalking because I check his tumblr page almost everyday to see if he’s added any new drawings. Now over a year has passed since I found his illustrations and he has been noticed by countless celebrates including Beyonce and even Oprah, and continues to go strong.

Hayden regularly answers his followers question on tumblr
Here are some Hayden Quotes:

HW: I tell everyone who asks this…. observe the details! Observe images that inspire you, whether it’s my illustrations or other illustrators/designers. Look at photos from the runway (style.com for e.g.) and see how the models body/silhouette and the fabrics looks in motion, then take note of all the details you see and translate those details to your work!

HW: I still have a lot to learn myself, but the best advice I would give is to only enter the industry if you are incredibly passionate, hard working and consistent with your work! That is the only way to succeed and have longevity in fashion... or in any career path you choose really!

HW: I love pretty much everything about Fashion! Fashion to me is fun and light hearted, but it can also be life enhancing! It’s a way for people to express themselves and it’s such an important factor! I’m a very visual person in general and appearance can play a big role in life…. it can be life changing! Fashion choices can potentially determine the job you get! It’s about how you carry yourself in the clothes you wear! I also love that fashion can be a confidence booster and the fact that I can play a role in boosting someone’s confidence by designing something they feel great in is something very special! I love this quote… “Never underestimate the power of what you wear, The rest of the world see’s what you drape on your frame”. - Oscar Schoffler

Check out the rest of Hayden’s amazing drawings here:

During my uni years i had to do a lot of illustration although it is not my area of choice. I've dome a lot of bad drawings but I've also done a couple good ones. Unfortunately my scrap book was misplaced by my tutors but I do have pictures of a few. I used them in my portfolio to showcase my work, this was a screen printing project I completed, along with the designs I illustrated.

Definitely no where near a Hayden Williams illustration but I'm proud of it. I'm going to continue practicing my fashion drawings and post more soon.

KimYe- His and Hers

Now with all the controversy surrounding the new mummy and daddy power pack -such as random angry rants at concerts about random stuff, mini threats over the radio to the president about saying his 'baby mamma's' name, calling himself 'God' and 'Tupac' in television interviews, fighting paparazzi... and this is all just Kanye- they're making it extremely hard not to feel a tad bit exasperated and maybe a little grossed out when you hear the name 'KimYe', an amalgamation of both so to be Mr and Mrs West names.

Its safe to say although I might bob my head to a Kanye track or two I'm defiantly not a fan of Mr West. Even less so a fan of Kim Kardashians outfit choices over the years especially after her relationship with Kanye became public, It seemed she could not get it right. Her proportions were off, she wore unflattering shapes and prints and really had no idea how to dress her body shape which is a shame because as we all know her shape is her money maker.

Well that definitely wasn't the case when Kim and Kanye stepped out in his and her matching 'Jeans and a T-Shirt' outfit.

Something so simple became something so magical and created this killer 'His and Her' casual yet fabulous look. Now I use the word 'simple' very lightly as Kim's Jeans alone cost £1300, designed by Yves St Laurent. The slashed jeans with the silver chains entangled within along with the ripped white T and long black coat give Kim a 'Bad Ass' persona sort of like the one sandy had at the end of grease. The sexy slim heeled pumps bring the feminine touch making her outfit a win all around.

There is nothing sexier than jeans and a t-shirt, and this couple hit it on the head with this matching ensemble. Lets hope they continue their fashion journey in an upwards manner from here on out. Can not wait to see what they pull off, or don't pull off next.
